Join us for an extraordinary musical journey, "Bach in Motion," presented by the Sebastians. This unique concert will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 2pm, held at the Good Shepherd-Faith Presbyterian Church located at 152 West 66th St. 

This event promises to be a captivating exploration of Bach’s violin and harpsichord sonatas, interpreted through the lens of physical movement. Understanding that dance played a pivotal role in baroque culture, the Sebastians, under the direction of Daniel Lee and Jeffrey Grossman, aim to bring a fresh perspective to these classical pieces. This year, they are excited to introduce a special collaboration with Steven Vilsaint, a dancer from the hip-hop world, whose performance is inspired by the music of Bach and other composers featured in the program.

The concert will showcase a selection of sonatas and suites by Johann Sebastian Bach, Elisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre, and Louis Marchand, promising a 70-minute performance without intermission, designed to immerse the audience in the harmonious blend of baroque music and contemporary dance.

In line with the Sebastians' commitment to accessibility, students of any age can attend the concert for free, subject to ticket availability. Additionally, community comp tickets are available for those who cannot afford a ticket but wish to experience this unique musical event.

Please note, the venue is not wheelchair accessible, with twenty steps leading up to the sanctuary. For the safety of all attendees, performers, and staff, COVID-19 safety measures will be closely monitored and announced prior to the concert date.
