Join us at the Howard Assembly Room in Leeds for an unforgettable night with Orchestra Mambo International on Thursday, May 9, 2024. This spectacular event promises an evening filled with stellar musicians, fiery grooves, percussive delights, and legends of the Latin music scene.

When UK salsa/Latin music veteran Lubi Jovanovic, also known as DJ Lubi, joined forces with top salsa/Latin jazz musician Jonny Enright, they set out to pay homage to the Mambo King, Tito Puente. What began as a one-off tribute has evolved into a much-anticipated show, following sell-out performances at Brudenell Social Club and Manchester’s Band On The Wall. With a debut single released in April and an album dropping this summer, get ready to dance the night away with big jams and special performances, including the electrifying Sabroso Dance Company.

The event will take place in the heart of Leeds at the Howard Assembly Room, a venue renowned for its year-round festival of music, performance, and ideas. Doors open at 7pm, with the show starting at 7:45pm. Tickets are available for standing at £17 and seating at £19, including booking fees. Special pricing is available for Under 30s Members at just £10.

The lineup features an array of talented performers, including Carlos Pachanga Peña as the lead singer, Jonny Enright on trombone and as the musical director, Ivan Pavon on bass, Victor Estevez on trumpet, and many more talented musicians bringing the vibrant sounds of mambo to life.

Don't miss this incredible night of music and dancing at the Howard Assembly Room. Book your tickets now and be part of a celebration dedicated to the legendary Tito Puente.

Alligator Gumbo are an exciting 7-piece band playing jazz from the hey-day of the New Orleans swing/jazz era, in particular the “roaring 20s”, when music was raw and largely improvised with melodies and solos happening simultaneously which has now become defined as the ‘New Orleans’ sound. Performing extensively for over 10 years, Alligator Gumbo have made numerous appearances at prestigious international jazz festivals and clubs throughout the country, establishing themselves as firm favourites on the British jazz scene. The band continues to wow audiences far and wide with their good-natured mix of foot-stomping rhythms and toe-tapping tunes, and raucous singalongs! Guaranteed to be a show like no other and not to be missed!
