Join us for a captivating evening as the Greene County Foundation Chamber Series presents "Dances from Many Lands with the Angelus Duo," featuring the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra. This special event will take place on Monday, November 13, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lawton Street Christian Church, located at 315 South Lawton Street, Jasonville, IN, 47438, United States.

The THSO is excited to collaborate with the Greene County Foundation to bring chamber ensembles and THSO musicians to Greene County for the 23-24 season. These ensembles will not only perform in public concerts but will also visit local schools to share their music with Greene County residents.

The evening's performance will star the Angelus Duo, comprising THSO Principal Harp Melanie Mashner and her sister, flutist Melissa Mashner. The duo will enchant the audience with a diverse program of dance music, featuring works by renowned composers such as Gluck, Salzedo, Persichetti, Debussy, Taki, Bizet, and more. Highlights include the Minuet and Dance of the Blessed Spirits from Orpheus by C.W. Gluck, Suite of Eight Dances by Carlos Salzedo, and selections from Carmen by G. Bizet.

In addition to the evening concert, the Angelus Duo will visit Shakamak Elementary School from 12:30-2:30pm to present an educational program about different types of dances from around the world.

This chamber series is made possible thanks to the support of the Brown County Community Foundation, Indiana Arts Commission, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
