Experience the genius of Mozart through the hands of Maxim Emelyanychev in the 2023/2024 season at Berwaldhallen. The Sveriges Radios Symfoniorkester (Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra) is proud to present its principal guest conductor designate, Maxim Emelyanychev, in a special performance that promises to be a highlight of the musical year. Emelyanychev, not only a celebrated conductor but also a renowned soloist, will introduce himself to the Berwaldhallen audience by taking on the dual role of conductor and soloist in Mozart’s bright and jovial 23rd piano concerto. This performance is unique as Emelyanychev will lead from a hammer grand piano, an instrument typical of Mozart’s period, offering a historically informed and authentic sound.

The concert will take place on May 4, marking a significant event where Emelyanychev's expertise in early music and his interpretative finesse will be on full display. Following the intermission, the audience will be treated to Rimsky-Korsakov’s colorful fairy tale suite, Sheherazade, with Emelyanychev taking the podium to lead the orchestra in this evocative and dynamic composition.
