This fall, Resonance Works presents the Pittsburgh premiere of Rachel Portman's modern masterpiece, The Little Prince, based on the beloved book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. This new production created by acclaimed stage director Keturah Stickann in collaboration with conductor and Artistic & General Director Maria Sensi Sellner features 12-year-old America's Got Talent phenom Victory Brinker in the title role and internationally-lauded baritone Daniel Teadt as The Pilot, alongside the Pittsburgh Youth Chorus and Resonance Chamber Orchestra.

"La bohème" explores the lives of a group of young, struggling artists in 19th-century Paris, focusing on the passionate and tumultuous love story between the poet Rodolfo and the seamstress Mimì. This opera is celebrated for its beautiful melodies, including some of Puccini's most famous arias, making it a touching narrative of love, friendship, and loss. The San Diego Opera's 60th Season opens with this masterpiece, marking a poignant return to the very first opera that inaugurated its journey.

This production features a stellar cast, including thrilling debuts and the return of San Diego Opera favorites. Kathleen O’Mara and Tasha Koontz share the role of Mimì, with performances by Joshua Blue and César Delgado as Rodolfo. The cast also includes Latonia Moore as Musetta, Leroy Davis as Marcello, and Harold Wilson as Colline, under the baton of the debut conductor Lidiya Yankovskaya, leading the San Diego Symphony Orchestra.

The opera is sung in Italian with English and Spanish subtitles projected above the stage, ensuring an accessible and immersive experience for all attendees. As Ancient Egypt and Ethiopia clash, the Egyptian general Radamès and the enslaved Ethiopian Aida—secretly a princess—embark on a forbidden romance that could change the fate of their nations. Aida’s father, Amonasro, and the Egyptian princess Amneris—who also loves Radamès—maneuver to shape destinies and test loyalties.
