The Swedish star composer Jacob Mühlrad comes to our concert hall for a meeting with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra. During the evening, Jacob Mühlrad's works will be performed, everything from symphonic works to music for theatre, music for film and more. This has been put together by Jacob Mühlrad exclusively for Malmö Live Konserthus in connection with Malmö Folk Festival.

Multi-talented composer Jacob Mühlrad has made a big splash in recent years. In this concert, soloist Magnus Holmander premieres Mühlrad’s brand new clarinet concerto, commissioned by the Swedish Radio’s concert hall, Berwaldhallen. Additionally, conductor Martin Fröst leads the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Felix Mendelssohn’s third symphony.

From Corigliano, “This a capella choral work, composed in 1971, is a setting of Richard Wilbur’s translation of Baudelaire’s L’Invitation au Voyage. Wilbur’s poignant setting pictures a world of obsessive imagination — a drugged vision of heaven full of sensual imagery. The music echoes the quality of the repeated refrain found in this lush translation: ‘There, there is nothing else but grace and measure, richness, quietness and pleasure.’”
