We are excited to welcome you to the longest running open stage in the Bay Area! Our Open Mic has brought in some of our brightest performers, including Shawn Colvin, Dana Carvey, Alvin Youngblood Hart, and Patrick Landeza. The audience is friendly – and people actually listen! So come on down and join the fun. All performers welcome. Doors open at 6:30pm, the lottery for performance spots is held at 7:20. The show starts promptly after the drawing. The Center for Ethnomusicology in collaboration with the Center for Jazz Studies at Columbia University presents an evening of kī hō‘alu or Hawaiian slack key guitar featuring renowned Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) guitarist Keola Beamer and his wife, Moanalani, distinguished Japanese guitarist Yuki ‘Alani Yamauchi, and award-winning Kanaka Maoli guitarist Patrick Landeza.
