Join us for an exquisite afternoon of clarinet music featuring the talented Elynn Chang, a Master of Music student at the Northwestern Bienen School of Music. This captivating recital is scheduled for Sunday, May 12, 2024, at 12:00pm CDT in the Regenstein Master Class Room. Elynn, under the guidance of esteemed instructors Stephen Williamson and Todd Levy, will showcase her mastery through a diverse program including works by Béla Kovács, Camille Saint-Saëns, Paul Schoenfield, and Jorge Montilla.

Accompanying Elynn on this musical journey are Lucy Kim on violin and the duo of Ke Wang and Dominic Doutrey on piano, creating a rich tapestry of sounds that promise to enchant the audience. The program features pieces such as Kovács' "Hommage á A. Khachaturian," Saint-Saëns' "Clarinet Sonata, Op. 167," Schoenfield's "Trio for Clarinet, Violin and Piano," and Montilla's "Registro de pajarillo," each chosen to highlight the clarinet's versatility and Elynn's skill.

Elynn Chang, clarinet

Northwestern Bienen School of Music

Cameron Harper is an active clarinetist and private teacher in the Pittsburgh area, currently completing graduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University. Recent performances include Copland’s Symphony No. 3, Brahms’s Symphony No. 1, and Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5 with the CMU Philharmonic, and he can be heard on BCM&D Records recordings of the Temple University Wind Symphony. While in Philadelphia, Cameron studied clarinet repair with renowned clarinet technician Mark Jacobi and served as music librarian for the Boyer College of Music & Dance and the Temple University Repertory Orchestra. He recently completed the Musical Entrepreneurship & Leadership Development program with New Groove Music Studio and has given presentations about the clarinet to schools across the Greater Pittsburgh area.
