Join us for an enchanting evening of vocal music as Otto Vogel, a talented baritone from the Northwestern Bienen School of Music, presents his Bachelor of Music recital. This special performance will take place on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at 6:00pm CDT in the intimate setting of the McClintock Choral and Recital Room, located within the Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Center for the Musical Arts.

Otto Vogel, under the tutelage of Karen Brunssen, will showcase his vocal prowess through a carefully selected repertoire that includes works by Henry Purcell realized by Benjamin Britten, selections from Felix Mendelssohn's "Elijah," Op. 70, and Ralph Vaughan Williams' pieces from "Three Poems by Walt Whitman" among others. The recital will also feature Gerald Finzi's "Channel Firing" from "Before and After Summer," Op. 16, and a delightful array of songs from Madeleine Dring's "7 Shakespeare Songs" and Betty Roe's whimsical "Lullaby for a Baby Toad" and "Morning and Afternoon."

Accompanying Otto on this musical journey will be Teresa Kang on piano and Eric Powers on cello, adding depth and harmony to the evening's performance.

This event is free and open to the public, with no tickets required. For those unable to attend in person, a live stream will be available, ensuring that no one misses out on this showcase of emerging musical talent.
