American violinist Melissa White has enchanted audiences and critics around the world as both a soloist and a chamber musician. 

Her February 2020 performance with the National Philharmonic was deemed “absolutely breathtaking” by Maryland Theatre Guide critic Katie Gaab, who cited the “grace, precision, and warmth” of her playing in Florence Price’s Violin Concerto No. 1; reviewing the same concert for The Washington Post, Matthew Guerrieri called her “an excellent advocate, prioritizing ease and fluency over intensity, suiting the music’s lyric and episodic nature.”

The Wheeling Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of John Devlin, presents "Nature. Beauty." This performance is a tribute to the stunning landscapes that define West Virginia and beyond. The concert opens with "Foggy Moon over the Gorge," a piece by West Virginia-based composer Matt Jackfert, inspired by the natural splendor of the New River Gorge, the nation's newest national park. The program continues with "The Maze," a composition by Nathan Lincoln-Decusatis, performed by the acclaimed violinist Madeline Adkins. This piece pays homage to the dramatic scenery and ancient pictographs of the Maze section of Canyonlands National Park in Utah. The evening culminates with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4, a beloved work that showcases the emotional depth and technical prowess of the orchestra. Adkins, the Utah Symphony Concertmaster, brings her extensive experience and artistry to the stage, having performed with numerous prestigious orchestras and festivals worldwide. Her performance on the ex-Chardon Guadagnini of 1782, a historic instrument, adds a unique and rich sound to the concert. This event is a celebration of nature's beauty through music, offering a profound auditory experience that reflects the grandeur of the landscapes it honors.
