Themes of devotion, sacrifice, supplication, and hope are explored in Music of Passion for the Season of Lent. Programming will include Benjamin Britten’s rapturously mystical Canticle 1: My beloved is mine and the haunting, angst-ridden Canticle 2: Abraham and Isaac.

The students of Mercer University Opera present a delightful collection of one-act operas including La Divina and The Beautiful Bridegroom. Directed by Martha Malone with Music Direction by Richard Kosowski. All operas are sung in English and accompanied by an orchestra.

Yes Madame! A Knot of One-Act Operas

The whole family will have fun with this charming, witty show in which Goldilocks is prosecuted for breaking and entering the home of the Three Bears! In the courtroom, we watch as Goldilocks and the Bears enact the traditional tale. Next, the prosecutor and the defense attorney present their hilarious versions of the same events. Our jury of animals makes some surprising decisions and doles out appropriately funny sentences, so everybody goes home happy–and a little wiser!
