The Ebell of Los Angeles and Pacific Opera Project are presenting an afternoon of Latin-American art song and arias to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month on Monday,  October 13 th at 4pm. Cantadoras y Compositoras will take place in the Sunroom of the historic Ebell and will feature Soprano, Maria Brea and Mezzo-Sopranos, Jessica Gonzalez-Rodriguez, Melisa Bonetti Luna and pianist, Mercedes Juan Musotto, highlighting Latina composers such as Carla Lucero, Mariel Mayz, Maria Grever and more. Come and join us in celebration of the rich history of Latin-American repertoire in an unforgettable afternoon of music-making.

SMC Opera Theatre and the SMC Symphony Orchestra present a fully staged production of Orpheus in the Underworld, Offenbach’s satire of the Orpheus myth, in which the character of Public Opinion prods the reluctant Orpheus to rescue his wife, Eurydice, who would rather party in the underworld! Featuring the famous “Can-can.” Performed in French with English supertitles.
