Faculty Chamber Music Series Concert I: LaMoine Brass Quintet & Hopper Jazztet

The program includes Anthony Barfield's "Gravity," a piece inspired by Langston Hughes's poem "Dreams Deferred" and commissioned by the New York Philharmonic. The performance will highlight the talents of Daniel Kelly & Richard Adams on trumpets, Lydia Van Dreel on horn, Lucas Borges on trombone, and Jesse Orth on tuba. This ensemble of principal brass players from the MahlerFest orchestra, along with Dr. Richard Adams, will bring to life a diverse and captivating program, perfectly aligning with the season's theme and showcasing the brilliance of the brass section.

The Carnegie Mellon Brass Spectacular will feature works by Altenburg, Bohme, Dahl, Dukas, Ewazen, Lutoslawski, Ravel, and more. The concert will also feature many groups, from smaller groups to large ensembles, which will contain both Carnegie Mellon students and members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
