Join us for an unforgettable evening of music and conversation at the "Schoenberg & More" event, part of the Colorado MahlerFest. This special performance is scheduled for Friday, May 17, 2024, at 7 PM, taking place at the Roots Music Project venue, located at 4747 Pearl, Suite V3A, Boulder.

This unique concert will feature the Tallā Rouge Duo, presenting a repertoire that includes Arnold Schoenberg's seminal work, "Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night), Op. 4," alongside pieces by MITZE, LANZILOTTI, and PERKINSON. The ensemble for the evening comprises talented musicians Alan Snow, Caroline Chin, and Sophia Szokolay on violin; Lauren Spaulding and Aria Cheregosha on viola; and Kenneth Woods and Parry Karp on cello.

"Verklärte Nacht," Schoenberg's first major work, is a string sextet inspired by a poem by Richard Dehmel. Despite its initial mixed reception, the piece has since been recognized as a masterpiece, particularly admired by Gustav Mahler.

The event promises not just a concert but an immersive experience. The Roots Music Project, a new venue for us, is designed as a music incubator, offering a club-style concert space with a mix of seating options, including folding chairs and comfortable seating pods at the back. A cash bar will be available, and parking is provided onsite, with additional street parking if needed.

The evening is structured as a double-header concert, with "Schoenberg & More" starting at 7 PM and lasting approximately 90 minutes without intermission. Following a brief interlude, during which pizza will be available for purchase, the night will continue with the second show, "Electric Liederland: Hendrix Meets Mahler," starting at 9 PM.

Tickets offer the flexibility of purchasing for individual shows or saving by buying a combined ticket for both performances. Special seating options are available for groups looking for a more comfortable experience.
