Having originated the role of Ti Moune in "Once on This Island," earning a Tony nomination, and winning a Tony for her performance as Celie in "The Color Purple," LaChanze has a rich history of bringing complex female heroines to life on the Broadway stage. Her recent roles include Donna Summer in "Summer: The Donna Summer Musical" and Wiletta in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of "Trouble in Mind," both of which garnered Tony nominations.
