Marble City Opera proudly presents the World Premiere of "The Doctor & The Devils," a gripping opera based on the British gothic horror screenplay by Dylan Thomas. This haunting work delves into the true story of Burke and Hare, who, in 1828 Edinburgh, Scotland, committed a series of murders to sell the bodies for anatomical research. The opera poignantly explores the ethical dilemma: do the ends justify the means? Through the character of Dr. Rock, it examines the dark side of medical discovery and the lengths one might go to in the name of progress.

This landmark production features music composed by the talented local composer, Jason Overall, bringing a fresh and powerful dimension to Thomas's original screenplay. The cast includes Stephen Salters as Doctor Rock, Jenna Ziccardi as Jennie, Cody Boiling as Murray, Gianna Grigalonis as Alice, Lela Philbrook as Elizabeth, John Overholt as Broom, Ema Mitrovic as Annabella, and Daniel Johnson-Webb as Fallon, under the direction of Kathryn Frady, with Brandon Coffer conducting.
