Conceived by GRAMMY-nominated, Haitian-American composer/performer Nathalie Joachim, Solitude + S P A C E  is an evening-length musical performance that examines the psychological implications of loneliness and connectivity in an increasingly isolating yet hyper-connected world. Join PCMS for an immersive experience that grapples with the conflicting notions of fear, othering, comfort, and peace that emerge when negotiating a singularly collective existence.

MSU baritone Mark Rucker and pianist Sadie Rucker present a powerful program of Spirituals in Here We Go Again, joined by MSU instrumentalists James Forger (saxophone), Yvonne Lam (violin), and Suren Bagratuni (cello). The recital explores both familiar and lesser-known spirituals, offering fresh interpretations and meaningful perspectives on this enduring musical tradition.

Our new TC Philharmonic Center has been made possible in part by an incredibly generous gift by Michigan State University Federal Credit Union’s Foundation, the “Desk Drawer Fund.” Maestro Rhodes, a graduate of MSU, felt it would be wonderful to celebrate this partnership and gift from the MSUFCU by inviting some of the MSU faculty to perform. Our longtime soloist emeritus, pianist Ralph Votapek, will be joined by cellist Suren Bagratuni, fondly remembered from past appearances with the orchestra in Dvorak and Shostakovich concertos. We warmly welcome violinist Yvonne Lam to our stage.
