**Overview:**
After the resounding successes of "Les feluettes" (2016) and "La Beauté du monde" (2022), Quebec's celebrated playwright Michel Marc Bouchard returns with "La Reine-Garçon," an operatic adaptation of his play "Christine, la reine-garçon." This time, Bouchard collaborates with the distinguished composer Julien Bilodeau, marking another chapter in their creative partnership. The opera promises to captivate audiences with the powerful voices of Canadian talents such as Joyce El-Khoury and Etienne Dupuis, under the direction of Angela Konrad.

**Synopsis:**
Set against the backdrop of a Europe emerging from the Thirty Years' War, "La Reine-Garçon" tells the story of Christine, Queen of Sweden, who was raised as a boy by her father. The opera delves into Christine's quest to understand the darkness within herself amidst the challenges of governance, love, and duty. It's a tale of identity, power, and the search for enlightenment in a changing world.

**PreOpera Event:**
For all ticket holders, a complimentary pre-concert presentation will be held one hour before each performance at the Piano Nobile in Place des Arts, moderated by musicologist Pierre Vachon.
