The Day Everything Went Wrong tells the true and incredible misadventure experienced by the Théâtre Sortie de Secours, in times of pandemic, when the company had undertaken – with the Catalan author Joan Yago – a show on climate denial. On the menu, the true story of a creative project that literally went wrong, with, in the background, a tragicomic management of toilets and reflux in the rehearsal room. Sensitive souls and climate skeptics could feel some side effects! 😉

**About the Production:**

First performed in Rome in 1853 and last presented by the Opéra de Québec in 2010, "Il trovatore" remains one of Verdi's most celebrated operas, alongside "La traviata" and "Rigoletto." This opera in four acts tells the tragic tale of love, jealousy, and revenge against the backdrop of war. The story revolves around the complex relationships between Manrico, the mysterious troubadour; Leonora, his beloved; Count de Luna, who is driven by jealousy; and Azucena, the bohemian who harbors deep secrets.

For this new production, the Opéra de Québec has enlisted the creative talents of director Jean-Sébastien Ouellette and conductor Federico Tibone, promising a fresh and insightful interpretation of this classic opera. The cast features performers adept in both acting and vocal performance, including lyrico-spinto soprano Irina Stopina as Leonora, ensuring a rendition of great depth and emotion.
