Experience the Elegance of Ballet in London

This October, immerse yourself in the beauty and drama of ballet with The National Ballet of Canada's much-anticipated return to London, England. From October 2nd to 6th, 2024, the prestigious Sadler’s Wells Theatre will host an inspiring celebration of Canadian talent, marking the company's first appearance in London since 2013.

Under the artistic direction of Hope Muir, the program features a trio of groundbreaking works by Canadian creators, showcasing the company's recent repertoire. The evening will open with James Kudelka’s "Passion," a love story set to the music of Ludwig van Beethoven, followed by Emma Portner’s duet "islands," and concluding with Crystal Pite’s full company work "Angels’ Atlas." Each piece promises to captivate audiences with its unique blend of choreography, music, and storytelling.

"Passion" explores complex relationships through the interweaving of two couples—one classical, the other contemporary—within the Corps de Ballet, set to Beethoven's Concerto for Piano in D, Op. 61a. "islands," a sculptural duet for two women, is set to an eclectic compilation of music, offering a mesmerizing contemporary experience. "Angels’ Atlas" unfolds against a morphing wall of light, with original music by Owen Belton and choral pieces by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Morten Lauridsen, highlighting the human condition's impermanence and vitality.
