Boston Conservatory chorus and orchestra welcome guest soloist Karen Slack(Opens in a new window) (soprano) to present the New England premiere of Florence Price's Song of Hope. Written in 1929, Price had recently fled the Jim Crow South only to encounter the uncertainty of the Great Depression. A work of remarkable beauty and inspiring optimism, Song of Hope has, for far too long, been absent from concert stages. Conducted by Stephen Spinelli and William Cutter.

Grammy Award-winning organist Paul Jacobs—a Pacific Symphony favorite— returns to the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall to perform a wide-ranging program of the most virtuosic organ repertoire.

The famous Davis Concert Organ will be featured front-and-center in Samy Moussa’s elegant tone poem and Guilmant’s lively symphony. Jean-Willy Kunz, Organist-in-Residence with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, joins young British conductor Kerem Hasan in a concert that’s full of musical variety. Catchy dance rhythms and unstoppable energy are what has made Beethoven’s seventh symphony popular since its first performance in 1813. Brimming with enthusiasm and humour, it remains a delight for orchestra musicians and audiences alike.
