Join us for an unforgettable evening with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra as we present "Symphonic Dances" on March 22, 2025, at 7:30 PM at the Potter Center. This special night marks a jubilant celebration of our 75th season, featuring a lineup that promises to enchant and energize audiences with the power of music.

The evening will kick off with a pre-concert conversation at 6:30 PM, offering a free, interactive lecture that provides deeper insight into the night's program. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the pieces you will hear and enhance your concert experience.

Our program schedule includes an electrifying mix of compositions, starting with Leonard Bernstein's "On the Waterfront: Symphonic Suite 1955," a piece that captures the essence of the American spirit. Following this, we are proud to present a world premiere commission by Carolina Calvache, showcasing the incredible talent of JSO Principal Trombone, Denis Jiron. The night will culminate in a captivating performance of Sergei Rachmaninoff's "Symphonic Dances, op.45 1940," a piece known for its intricate rhythms and beautiful melodies that will leave you spellbound.

Denis Jiron, our guest artist for the evening, brings a wealth of experience and talent to the stage. A native of Los Angeles, California, Jiron has performed with a diverse array of ensembles and artists, from symphony orchestras to pop acts and Afro-Cuban/salsa groups. His dynamic performance is sure to be a highlight of the evening.

The concert will have a runtime of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, but the celebration doesn't end there. Join us for the afterparty, sponsored by Commonwealth, at a location to be determined. For a $20 ticket, you'll enjoy entry, hors d'oeuvres, and drinks, providing a perfect setting to mingle with musicians, guest artists, and fellow symphony enthusiasts.

Tickets for "Symphonic Dances" are available for purchase starting September 1st, with prices ranging from $5 for student tickets to $40 for Section A seating.
