The Avaloch Farm Music Institute Concert, held at UVMC in Lebanon, features Trevor New, Viola, currently in residence at Avaloch Farm Music Institute. Trevor New, a Brooklyn-based electro-acoustic viola musician, has performed throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia as a soloist, chamber musician, and recording artist. Program will include Bach Chaconne Recomposed, Railroad for Viola, and a new piece inspired by the Upper Valley. Join us in the Bach Room!

The Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys and Orchestra of St. Luke’s give the world premiere performance of a new major work by composer Trevor Weston for choir and orchestra entitled American Lamentations. Conductor and Saint Thomas Church Music Director Jeremy Filsell leads the ensemble in an evening featuring great works of American composers.

For the first time ever, SoNA is releasing a full-length album with groundbreaking new music that blends acoustic and electric sounds, as well as virtual and “in real life” performances by our orchestra and special guest soloists and ensembles from around the world. This album will include music by our very own Music Director Paul Haas, as well as the incredible violist/composer Trevor New. To celebrate and preview this upcoming release, we’re featuring these pieces in a live performance, with virtual tie-ins to multiple international locations. After the intermission, we'll raise the roof with the joyously beautiful Symphony No. 3 in F Major by Johannes Brahms – truly one of the most gorgeous pieces of music ever written. This concert shows SoNA’s commitment to the past, present, and future of music with “new canons" and beloved time-honored ones as well.

Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, Resurrection, evokes the divine glory of eternal life attained only through the suffering of the mortal world. Its lyrical slow movement and heart-pounding finale introduce two vocal soloists, here embodied by soprano Golda Schultz and mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung. Opening the program, Trevor Weston, inaugural winner of the Emerging Black Composers Project, unveils a new orchestral work, led by Esa-Pekka Salonen in its world premiere.
