LSO’s chamber orchestra concert takes place this year in the magnificent space of Saint Paul United Methodist Church. Composer David von Kampen’s award-winning song cycle Under the Silver and Home Again, orchestrated for LSO and composed for and performed by baritone Nathaniel Sullivan, will be paired with Ravel’s song cycle Don Quixote to Dulcinea. The program also includes Mozart’s Prague Symphony and Mendelssohn’s The Hebrides Overture (Fingal’s Cave).

Experience the profound beauty and serenity of Gabriel Fauré's Requiem with the Quad City Symphony Orchestra's Masterworks V: The Fauré Requiem. This captivating concert is set to take place on March 3 at 2:00 pm CST in the historic Centennial Hall, located at 3703 7th Ave, Rock Island, Illinois.

Under the baton of Mark Russell Smith, the concert will feature an array of talented artists including soprano Sarah Shafer, pianist Marian Lee, cellist Hannah Holman, and baritone Nathaniel Sullivan. The evening will also celebrate the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, starting with the virtuosic flourishes of the first movement of Bach’s Third Brandenburg Concerto. Attendees will be treated to the iconic Prelude from the First Cello Suite, the yearning Air on a G-String from Bach’s Third Orchestral Suite, and a selection from The Well-Tempered Clavier. The program will also include selections from the St. Matthew Passion and B Minor Mass, offering a rich tapestry of Bach's profound musical expressions.

The life of King Edward II inspired Marlowe’s classic tragedy, but Sir George Benjamin and Martin Crimp turn it inside out, in an opera that exposes the raw emotions of four characters locked in a deadly embrace. This is Lessons in Love and Violence, and it caused a sensation when it opened at the Royal Opera in 2018. Edward Gardner has assembled a world-beating cast for this one-off concert performance.

Apollo’s Fire and conductor Jeannette Sorrell are thrilled to return to Bach’s most legendary masterpiece on the 300th anniversary of its premiere in Leipzig (1727). In this dramatic presentation, the singers in the character roles (Jesus, Pilate, etc) interact with each other, singing from memory. The GRAMMY®-nominated chorus Apollo’s Singers is joined by children’s voices to create a sense of communal gathering in Sorrell’s interpretation. British tenor Ed Lyon, fresh from major successes at London’s Covent Garden, steps into the role of the Evangelist as an animated storyteller.
