The Carnegie Mellon Contemporary Ensemble performs music composed in the last twenty years in concerts that feature multidisciplinary collaboration, technology, improvisation, and theatrical elements. The ensemble often highlights the work of students and faculty.

The first of three Sinfonietta Nova concerts will feature London Sinfonietta's Jonathan Morton. The concert will take you on a journey through the raw and palpable power of Krzysztof Penderecki, the eerie and unsettling undercurrent of the Oscar-winning soundtrack 'There Will Be Blood' to the unistic and deeply layered style of composer Zygmunt Krauze, who will sit at the piano.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of music and emotion with the "Earth Cry Tchaikovsky & Sibelius" concert, presented by the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra (HSO). This stirring event will take place on Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the historic Hawaii Theatre, located at 1130 Bethel Street, Honolulu, HI.

This concert promises a powerful exploration of our changing planet through the language of music, featuring the brilliant talents of violinist Simone Porter and didgeridoo player William Barton. Under the baton of conductor Dane Lam, the HSO will bring to life the icy virtuosity of Jean Sibelius's Violin Concerto, the wild intensity of Peter Sculthorpe's "Earth Cry," and the dramatic narrative of Pyotr Illyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5.
