Immerse yourself in a transcendent musical experience as the Dallas Symphony Orchestra presents "Sibelius and Duruflé" from February 28 to March 2, 2025. This exceptional concert series, under the baton of guest conductor Matthew Halls, will feature the talents of mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton, baritone Norman Garrett, and the harmonious voices of the Dallas Symphony Chorus, directed by Anthony Blake Clark.

The program opens with Sibelius's Symphony No. 6, a work that the composer himself described as a "pure, cold water" poem, embodying an ecstatic string-playing that evolves into an emotionally intense journey before gently fading away. Following this, the audience will be treated to Duruflé's Requiem, a piece that contrasts with its serene and consoling nature, highlighted by the majestic sounds of the Lay Family Concert Organ. This Requiem is not one of overwhelming sorrow but rather speaks to consolation and acceptance, offering a unique and moving experience.

Performances are scheduled for Friday, February 28, 2025, and Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 7:30pm, with a matinee on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 3:00pm. This event promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime choral event that showcases the depth and beauty of orchestral and choral music.
