A well-known insomniac for whom night was a time for creativity and friendship, deep introspection and revelry, the iconic Leonard Bernstein worked incessantly, often entertaining friends and guests late into the night and dazzling them with charismatic performances across a wide range of musical styles. Late Night with Leonard Bernstein is hosted by his daughter Jamie and features three internationally-acclaimed artists – soprano Amy Burton and pianists John Musto and Michael Boriskin. A scintillating and affectionate multimedia portrait of the personal side of this charismatic, singularly public figure, this vibrant production has captivated sold-out audiences across the U.S. since it premiered at Lincoln Center. The program weaves together a warm-hearted, revealing script, a video slideshow of rare photographs of the legendary artist and his family, friends, and colleagues, and Bernstein’s most intimate (and favorite) music, along with personal stories and even audio and film clips of the Maestro himself.

A tale of three iconic cities in Song, this concert will present music from the 1920s-1940s in operetta, théâtre musicale, cabaret, and Tin Pan Alley. These songs, like the composers who wrote them, are citizens of the world. Featuring music by Reynaldo Hahn, Kurt Weill, André Messager, Cole Porter, Alexander Zemlinsky, Hans Eisler, Duke Ellington, and Sidney Bechet.

﻿When hard-headed British phonetics professor Henry Higgins takes Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle under his wing to transform her into a lady, cultures clash and Higgins and Eliza form an unlikely bond. With timeless songs like “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly” and “I Could Have Danced All Night”, the Opera Saratoga version will be a love letter to theater, with 10 singing actors playing all the roles and two pianists forming the orchestra. Directed by Mary Birnbaum and choreographed by Julia Eichten, the production will be music directed by Adam Nielsen.
