Bon Appétit! was comprised of two icons of the television age: music draped over the words and gestures of Julia Child, the mother-of-all-foodies, in her black-and-white days; written for Jean Stapleton, famed original-cast, Broadway-musical comedienne, in her late career.

The Cutting Edge Classroom Cooking School

Discover an exciting new musical partnership between world-renowned artists: American soprano Angel Blue and superstar pianist Lang Lang. Carnegie Hall audiences have heard these artists in a variety of settings—but never in a performance quite like this: Blue in her recital debut and Lang Lang in his first full-concert duo at the Hall with a vocalist. Already acclaimed worldwide, Blue has recently become one of New York’s most prominent singers, thanks to a series of major, Grammy Award–winning roles at the Metropolitan Opera. Featured as part of Lang Lang’s two-year Carnegie Hall Perspectives series, this concert is one of many that connects him to audiences across an unprecedented variety of performances.

In a remote farmhouse kitchen on a snowy February night, Miriam, trapped in a loveless marriage with the oppressive Reuel, finds unexpected passion with a young Postman who seeks shelter from the storm. Miriam weaves a magical red scarf to win his love, recounting her farm childhood by the fire. When he departs, she wishes for his return, but the scarf ends up around Reuel's neck instead. In a frantic struggle, Miriam inadvertently kills Reuel, haunted by her unintended act of violence.
