Persephone Theatre proudly presents "TH’OWXIYA: The Hungry Feast Dish," an enchanting production that brings to life a captivating Kwantlen First Nations tale. This theatrical feast is set to take the stage from November 15 to December 8, 2023, at the Remai Arts Centre, offering audiences a unique blend of traditional Coast Salish and Sto:lo music and masks.

The story unfolds as a sly mouse named Kw’at’el is caught stealing cheese from Th’owxiya, a hungry old spirit who dwells within a feast dish brimming with delicious foods. This engaging narrative is recommended for audiences aged 5 and up, making it a perfect cultural outing for families and school groups alike.

The cast and creative team feature talented artists including Danica Charlie as Sasq’ets/Sasquatch, Meela Alexis and Braiden Houle as Sister and Brother Theqa:t Tree/Spa:th Bear, Damion LeClair as Sqeweqs/Raven, Cassandra Bourchier as Kw’at’el/Mouse, and Margo Kane as the voice of Th’owxiya. The play is penned by Joseph Dandurand, directed by Chris McGregor, with Jay Havens as the production designer and Marguerite Witvoet composing the music.
