Alongside his loyal Fellowship, Frodo aims to vanquish evil, spurred by his inheritance of a gold ring from his uncle Bilbo. This production celebrates the rich world of Middle-earth, offering an unforgettable experience for both longtime fans and newcomers.

The Chicago Shakespeare Theater's collaboration with Middle-earth Enterprises brings this re-imagined version of "The Lord of the Rings" to audiences, fulfilling a shared dream of showcasing the Watermill's stage expression of Tolkien's work. The play features a talented creative team, including Shaun McKenna and Matthew Warchus (Book and Lyrics), A.R. Rahman, Värttinä, and Christopher Nightingale (Music), and Paul Hart (Director), among others.

Special performances include ASL Interpretation on August 23 at 7:00 p.m., Open Captioning on August 21 at 1:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m., and Audio Description on August 25 at 2:00 p.m., ensuring accessibility for all audiences. This production is suitable for all ages, with a recommendation for those 8 and up, making it a perfect family outing.
