Join us for an unforgettable musical journey with the Amarillo Symphony's "Mountains and Oceans" concert, a spectacular event that celebrates the convergence of our talented Youth Orchestra and the Symphony. This event is set to take place at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts, located at 500 S Buchanan St, Amarillo, TX 79101, from February 28, 2025, to March 1, 2025, with performances starting at 7:30 PM on both Friday and Saturday.

Under the baton of conductor George Jackson, the concert will feature the Amarillo Symphony Youth Orchestra, with special performances by Hannah Weaver on percussion and Rosanna Moore on harp. The repertoire for the evening includes Errollyn Wallen's "Mighty River" performed side by side with the Amarillo Symphony Youth Orchestra in honor of Black History Month, Angela Elizabeth Slater's "Mountains become Oceans," Jean Sibelius's "Swan of Tuonela," and Claude Debussy's iconic "La Mer," a mesmerizing impression of the sea.

This Amarillo Symphony-commissioned orchestral work promises to explore the heights and depths of emotion, offering a unique blend of harp and percussion that will leave audiences captivated.
