Join the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) Chorus for an enchanting evening of choral music at Greyfriars Kirk, Edinburgh, on Friday, 14th March 2025, at 7:30 pm. Under the baton of esteemed conductor Stephen Doughty, the RSNO Chorus will present a captivating repertoire that includes Billings' "Modern Musick," Ives' "Psalm 90," McIntyre's "Missa Brevis," Belmont's "If Music Be The Food of Love," and Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms."

The highlight of the evening, Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms," promises to be a joyous and illuminating performance, showcasing the power and beauty of choral singing. Come experience the fascinating connectivity between vocal and piano literature, as well as the dramatic contrast between composers who, carrying their own traditions, somehow end up in the same place – just as we will in the concert hall.”

Opening with inquisitive and stubborn Byzantine scales in the Maric, follow Boccherini through an evening of 18th century Madrid street sounds. The Mozart, featuring brilliant soloist Orion Weiss, and the Mendelssohn, with its groovy "Saltarello" finale, round out this celebration of the ostinato—the persistent, repeating musical phrase upon which musicians have improvised for centuries.
