Join us for an evening where the visual arts and classical music collide in an extraordinary concert titled "The Visual Meets the Aural." This unique collaboration between the Amarillo Arts Institute and Arts in the Sunset promises to be a feast for the senses. The event will feature a stellar lineup of musicians including Michelle Skinner on violin, Aaron Merritt on cello, and Rick Rowley on piano, alongside talented visual artists, painters who will bring the music to life through their art.

The repertoire for the evening includes Claude Debussy's Violin Sonata for violin and piano, Jessie Montgomery's Duo for violin and cello, Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, and Dmitri Shostakovich's Piano Trio No. 1 in C major, Op. 8. This opening season concert celebrates collaborative arts and community, centered around Mussorgsky's mighty "Pictures at an Exhibition." Following the symphony’s performance of Ravel’s transcription just a few weeks prior, this event will also feature a juried presentation by local artists inspired by Viktor Hartmann’s original themes, all taking place in the vibrant art colony of Sunset in the Arts.
