This intimate concert showcases the Baroque and Neoclassical eras alongside contemporary American voices. Works include Jessie Montgomery’s energetic Starburst, Handel’s Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, and Stravinsky’s playful Pulcinella Suite. Guest violinist Megan Karls joins the orchestra for Bach’s Violin Concerto in A Minor, with additional selections from Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 2 and Vivaldi’s Concerto for Strings RV156.

The Santa Fe Symphony Concertmaster, David Felberg, performs Jennifer Higdon’s 2010 Pulitzer Prize-winning Concerto for Violin in its Santa Fe debut. This brilliant program opens with Starburst for String Orchestra by Jessie Montgomery and concludes with a performance of Beethoven’s anthem to freedom and liberty—Symphony No. 3 in E-Flat Major, “Eroica”—and its retracted dedication to Napoleon, once the French had occupied the composer’s native Vienna.

Join the Peoria Symphony Orchestra for an enchanting evening of Irish music at the "Faith and Begorrah" concert. This special event, conducted by George Stelluto and featuring the exceptional talents of percussionist Cynthia Yeh, will take place on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Peoria Civic Center Theater, located at 201 SW Jefferson Ave, Peoria, Illinois 61602.

The evening will commence with the lobby opening at 6:30 pm, followed by the concert beginning at 7:30 pm. The program includes a captivating lineup of compositions that celebrate the rich musical heritage of Ireland, including Joan Trimble's "Suite for Strings," Jesse Montgomery's "Procession for Solo Percussion," Charles Villiers Stanford's "Irish Rapsody No. 1, Op. 7," and Leroy Anderson's "Irish Suite."

Cynthia Yeh, renowned for her role as principal percussionist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since June 2007, brings her extraordinary skills to the forefront of this performance. With a rich background that includes serving as principal percussionist for the San Diego Symphony Orchestra and holding degrees from the University of British Columbia and Temple University, Yeh's participation promises to elevate the evening's musical offerings.

Winner of the 2020 New York Concert Artists Worldwide Debut Auditions and the 2019 Astral Artists National Competition, Mr. Goodpasture has performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.; Benaroya Hall in Seattle; Koerner Hall in Toronto; and Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Hall, and Weill Recital Hall in New York City. He has performed in the festivals at Ravinia, Aspen, Caramoor, Sarasota, and Port Townsend.  Additionally, he received top prizes at the Serge Koussevitzky Competition for Pianists and the Washington, Dallas, Iowa and Seattle international piano competitions.
