Demarre McGill is internationally recognized as one of today's most compelling flutists as well as celebrated for his lyrical expressiveness and technical prowess. Currently serving as the principal flute of the Seattle Symphony, McGill has also appeared as a soloist with many of the nation’s leading orchestras. This performance is presented in collaboration with SFCM alumni, faculty, and students.

Join us for an unforgettable evening as the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra (DSSO) brings its Masterworks season to a grand finale with "La Valse." This spectacular concert will showcase the exceptional talent of our musicians, featuring concertmaster Erin Aldridge and the beloved DSSO Chorus. The evening will commence with a celebration of Maurice Ravel’s 150th birthday, highlighting his virtuosic "La Valse" that demonstrates the full splendor of the orchestra. Erin Aldridge will captivate the audience with Ravel’s "Tzigane" for violin and orchestra, alongside the enchanting "Poème" by French composer Ernest Chausson. The concert will also include two exhilarating Latin American Dances by American composer Gabriella Lena Frank, followed by the serene "Schicksalslied" by Johannes Brahms and the vibrant "Time and Again Barelas" choral suite by American/Uruguayan composer Miguel del Aguila, performed by our DSSO Chorus.
