The dogma chamber orchestra, founded by its musical director Mikhail G. Gurewitsch with a group of young musicians in Detmold in 2004, describes itself as "untamed, risky, and honest." Over 20 years later, the ensemble has won multiple ECHO and OPUS Klassik awards! Far removed from any polished aesthetic and free of any kitschy fluff, the dogma chamber orchestra performs works from the Baroque to the present day, as well as jazz and original compositions—standing up and without a classical conductor. This time, the orchestra is supported by two young yet phenomenal musicians: with pianist Elisabeth Brauss and Anna Luisa Kramb (violin), the dogma chamber orchestra has found the ideal line-up for Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's Concerto for Violin, Piano, and Orchestra.

Brauß was praised by Gramophone Magazine for "the maturity and sophistication of her thoughtful interpretations." She is currently establishing herself as one of the most exciting and versatile musicians of her generation. As a former member of the BBC New Generation Artist Scheme, she continues to perform regularly in recitals, chamber music, and solo concerts in the UK. In 2021, she made her debut at the BBC Proms.

Elisabeth Brauß presents the entire spectrum from subtlety to the power of sound in her piano recital, which ranges from Schubert's A major Sonata, written in the immediate vicinity of the Trout Quintet, to Schumann's Carnaval cycle, composed in the wake of his enthusiasm for Schubert, to Sergei Prokofiev's witty youth work from his days as a student at the St. Petersburg Conservatory.

Join us for an exquisite evening of classical music as the London Symphony Orchestra presents "New Generation Artists: Quatuor Arod and Elisabeth Brauß" at the iconic LSO St Luke's. This BBC Radio 3 Lunchtime Concert, scheduled for Thursday, 19th September 2024 at 6pm, promises to be a memorable experience, showcasing the talents of the rising stars in the classical music world.

The concert will feature a captivating program, including selections from Sergei Prokofiev's "Ten Pieces for Piano Op 12" and the mesmerizing "Piano Quintet" by César Franck. Performed by the acclaimed Quatuor Arod alongside the exceptionally talented pianist Elisabeth Brauß, this event is a celebration of musical mastery and innovation.

Tickets are priced at £16, with concessions available at £14, and a special rate of £6 for under-18s. A booking fee of £1.50 per transaction applies. Attendees can also benefit from multibuy discounts, concessions for students and groups, and free companion tickets for Barbican Access Members.
