The day begins at 12 PM with a Spotlight Concert titled "Bach to Hungary" at St. Paul’s Cathedral in downtown Burlington. This free afternoon recital offers a unique opportunity to experience the timeless beauty of Bach and Bartók in a magnificent setting. The concert will feature Ji Su Jung on marimba performing Bach's Lute Suite in E minor, BWV 996, followed by Robyn Bollinger and Soovin Kim on violins presenting selected Duos for Two Violins by Bartók. The musical journey continues with Bartók's String Quartet No. 4, performed by an ensemble comprising Robyn Bollinger and Soovin Kim on violins, Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt on viola, and Edward Arron on cello.

At 4 PM, the festival invites you to the Elley-Long Music Center at St. Michael’s College for the Young Composers Sounding Board I. This interactive session, hosted by Resident Composer David Serkin Ludwig, offers a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process. Attendees will witness the 2024 Young Composers—Delfin Demiray, Jonah Cohen, and Yuri Lee—hear their compositions played for the first time by festival artists, providing a rare glimpse into the birth of new music.

Join us for an extraordinary musical journey at the Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival with "Concert I: East to West" on Sunday, August 18, 2024. This unique concert experience will take place at the Elley-Long Music Center at St. Michael’s College, starting with a Pre-Concert Conversation with Soovin Kim and David Serkin Ludwig at 2:15 PM, followed by the concert commencement at 2:55 PM. 

"East to West" explores the rich tapestry of musical exchange and fusion across continents, from Persia through Azerbaijan and Austria to the United States, celebrating the influences that have shaped our musical heritage. The program includes a selection of works that embody this cultural journey, including Brahms’s beloved Hungarian Dances, showcasing the vibrant exchange of folk cultures along the ancient Silk Road and its modern implications in our globalized society.

Featured pieces include David Serkin Ludwig's "Berakhah 2020," Kian Ravaei's "Gulistan for soprano, cello, and piano 2023," selections from Brahms's Hungarian Dances, and Brahms's Viola Quintet in F major, Op. 88. These performances will be brought to life by an ensemble of talented artists, including Soovin Kim (violin), Gloria Chien (piano), Lucy Fitz Gibbon (soprano), and many more.

Tickets are available for general admission at $45, with special pricing for individuals under 30 at $20, and students at $5. Join us for a captivating evening as ROCO’s Connections Series continues on January 27, 2024, in collaboration with The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Rienzi house museum. The concert will take place at 5:00 PM in the glorious ballroom of the Rienzi, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, located on Kirby Drive.

This special event, now at capacity, will feature a stunning program including Charles Loeffler's "Rhapsodies" and the world premiere of Nicky Sohn's "Colors of Life’s Garden," inspired by the plants and flowers in the 4.4-acre Rienzi Garden. The evening will also include performances of Margaret Bonds' "Troubled Water," Rebecca Clarke's "Morpheus," and Alyssa Morris' "Four Personalities: Yellow."
