Darius Jones has created a recognizable voice as a critically acclaimed saxophonist and composer by embracing individuality and innovation in the tradition of Black music across all musical classifications –  traditional jazz, electro-acoustic, chamber music, contemporary and avant-garde jazz, and more. fLuXkit Sextet, a new project developed by Darius Jones at Western Front, an artist-run center in Vancouver, Canada, is a set of rigorous and expansive compositions for saxophone, violins, cello, bass, and drums.

In a special cross-borough collaboration with National Sawdust, we are proud to present "Uptown Nights Convent to Wythe," featuring the incredible talents of yuniya edi kwon, SUN HAN GUILD, and Bora Yoon. This event is a celebration of voices that are reshaping the landscape of new music for this century, fostering a space for artistic innovation and cultural expression.

**About the Performances:**  
- **yuniya edi kwon** presents "silver through the grass like nothing," a work in progress solo that explores the boundaries of solo performance, creating an immersive world of sound and emotion. This piece is a ritual convergence of story-singing, experimental music-theater, and emergent movement, reflecting on themes of sickness, grief, and transformation.

- **SUN HAN GUILD** will present the WORLD PREMIERE of "even in the shadow of a retching fog," a ritual for grief and generosity that connects the ensemble’s compositional collectivity to the continuum of sinawi, the improvisational music flowing through Korean shamanic rites. This work represents the next evolution in SUN HAN GUILD’s practice, creating a space where grief can be transformed into an embodied and deeply enjoyed experience.
