Opera Theatre St. Louis is thrilled to announce its upcoming vocal camp, "Sing Out," a unique opportunity for students entering grades 9-12 to discover and enhance their vocal talents. This immersive experience is scheduled to take place from June 3-7, 2024, at the prestigious 560 Music Center, Washington University in University City.

Under the guidance of Dr. Marc Schapman, Program Director, and a distinguished faculty including Dr. Jeffrey Carter, Music Director, and a host of experienced voice teachers, pianists, and masterclass instructors, participants will embark on a journey of musical discovery and professional development. The camp offers a comprehensive program designed to nurture young talents through daily private voice lessons, vocal coaching, and classes in movement, acting, dance, and fight choreography. Additionally, students will engage in meaningful conversations with OTSL artists and music staff, providing invaluable insights into the world of professional performance.

A highlight of the camp is the opportunity to rehearse and perform an opera scene, culminating in a recital and theater scene performance for friends and family. This hands-on experience is complemented by attending a live Opera Theatre performance of Rossini’s "The Barber of Seville," allowing students to witness professional opera at its finest.

Sing Out is committed to making this transformative experience accessible to all, offering need-based financial assistance to ensure that every interested student has the opportunity to participate. With no audition necessary and registration limited to maintain a high-quality, personalized experience, prospective attendees are encouraged to secure their spot early.
