After our hugely popular, ground-breaking, multi-performance collaboration with Thorgy Thor, Symphony Nova Scotia is thrilled to continue paving the way for greater 2SLGBTQIA+ representation and celebration in the orchestral world with New York drag queen, singer, and performer Monét X Change. Rising to fame after competing in the 10th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race and winning season four of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, Monét – who is known for her quick wit, powerful vocals, comedic chops, high-energy performances, and (of course) her pussycat wigs – performs music by Mozart, Bellini, and Puccini, along with hits by Dolly Parton, Nina Simone, and more.

Join us for an unforgettable evening with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at the Alexander W. Dreyfoos Concert Hall on January 17, 2025. Under the baton of renowned Music Director Riccardo Muti, the orchestra will present a program that showcases the depth and breadth of their legendary sound. The evening's repertoire includes the mysterious and unfinished Symphony No. 8 in B Minor, D 759 "Unfinished" by Schubert, and Tchaikovsky’s fiery Symphony No. 4 in F Minor, Op. 36, along with the Overture from Bellini's Norma.

The performance will also feature a special "Beyond The Stage" pre-concert talk from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the Rinker Playhouse. Hosted by the Kravis Center’s Classical Artistic Advisor, Phillip Bergmann, this insightful discussion will offer audiences an inside look at the music, musicians, and composers of the evening's program. Special guests from the ensembles will join to share interesting facts and background, making this an enriching experience for all attendees.

This concert is part of the Classical Concert Series, generously sponsored by Leonard and Sophie Davis, with additional support for the "Beyond The Stage" talk provided by Nancy and Jay Parker.
