Marin Theatre proudly presents the American premiere of "It's True, It's True, It's True," a contemporary British play that has been lauded as "Gripping, tremendous" by The Guardian. Conceived and written by the U.K.'s Breach Theatre, this compelling production is based on the surviving court transcripts from the 1612 trial of Agostino Tassi for the rape of the baroque painter Artemisia Gentileschi. Over the course of seven months, this trial captivated Renaissance Rome, and now, through a blend of verbatim material, art history, and contemporary commentary, the play brings to light how Gentileschi sought justice through her art, ultimately becoming one of her generation's most successful painters.

This riveting production will be staged at the Lieberman Black Box Theatre from April 16, 2025, to May 4, 2025. Please note, the play contains nudity and is a powerful exploration of themes that are as relevant today as they were in the 17th century.
