### ESO Youth - Christmas 2023 Harp Day

#### Event Description:
Get ready for a spectacular day filled with magical music and exciting learning at the Christmas 2023 Harp Day, hosted by the English Symphony Orchestra Youth. This event is designed for young harpists aged 7-18, with a minimum of Grade 2 proficiency. No previous ensemble experience is necessary.

Participants will have the unique opportunity to meet and learn from two inspiring harpists, Rita Schindler and Natasha Gale. The day will be packed with activities including playing your favorite seasonal tunes, engaging in fun harp discussions, and making new harpist friends.

#### Harp Tutors:

**Rita Schindler:**  
Hungarian harpist Rita Schindler is a renowned musician and teacher, currently the principal harp tutor at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She has an extensive performing career, including regular performances with the Birmingham Royal Ballet, Ulster Orchestra, and English Symphony Orchestra. Rita's accolades include the Sir John Barbirolli Recipient Young Artist of the Royal Philharmonic Society and winner of the Central England Ensemble Concerto Competition.

**Natasha Gale:**  
Natasha Gale is a young professional harpist from Kent, a graduate of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She has performed as a solo and orchestral harpist across Birmingham, London, and the West Country. Natasha is the current harp tutor for several schools in the Cotswolds and Cheltenham area and is part of The Abrazo Duo with flautist Ellena Taylor. She is passionate about innovative teaching methods and exploring the full range of the harp.

- All tutors are Enhanced DBS-checked.
- A pastoral staff team supports all ESO Youth courses.
- COVID protocols, including regular hand washing and use of hand sanitiser, will be encouraged.
