Join the Academy of St Martin in the Fields as they collaborate with the acclaimed cellist Anastasia Kobekina, the 2024 Leonard Bernstein Award winner at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. Described by Le Figaro as an unrivalled musician, Kobekina will bring her exceptional talent to the stage with a performance of Haydn’s C major cello concerto. This masterpiece, lost and unheard for almost two centuries, was composed during Haydn’s early years with the Esterházy family and is known for pushing the boundaries of the baroque form.

In addition to Haydn’s concerto, Kobekina will perform Stravinsky’s Suite Italienne, derived from his popular ballet Pulcinella, which was based on music originally attributed to Pergolesi but actually composed by Domenico Gallo. Gallo’s Follia will also be featured in the programme.
