
Celebration Overture
Celebration Overture is exactly that, a celebration! Enjoy a big and splashy program to open the 75th season with guest musician, Courtney Hershey Bress on the harp. Professional and Principal Harpist, Bress is an international soloist who has been heard around the world from the Grand Teton Music Festival to the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia in Bogotá, Colombia. During Celebration Overture, guests will witness her incredible talent.

Our season opener throws a bright spotlight on orchestral power, bringing together a classic ballet score, a stunning pair of showpieces for violin, and a tour de force for orchestra and organ. Stravinsky’s Petrushka was one of the trio of great Ballet scores that established his reputation at the beginning of the twentieth century. Set at the St Petersburg Shrovetide Fair it tells the tale of its ill-fated puppet hero through some of the composer’s most evocative and moving music – practically a concerto for orchestra with a virtuoso piano part. The piano features prominently, too, in Saint-Saëns’ ever popular Third Symphony, this time with two pianists racing around the exhilarating finale before the organ adds some spine-tingling grandeur into the mix.

Experience an unforgettable evening of orchestral mastery at the Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra’s “Power of the Orchestra” concert on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 7 p.m.  Held at the AAHS Performing Arts Center, this event promises to dazzle audiences with a powerful lineup featuring two iconic compositions.

The concert will showcase Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 1, featuring the exceptional talent of Brayden Drevlow on piano, and Saint-Saens’ Symphony No. 3 “Organ”, a grand and majestic piece renowned for its breathtaking use of the organ within the orchestral setting.
