The soap opera of Greek gods, heroes and heroines has been a rich source of inspiration for writers, painters and musicians for centuries. In this concert we hear tales of men and women behaving very badly indeed, set to extraordinary music.

Sweden's Radio Symphony Orchestra meets Ukrainian musician colleagues on Ukraine's Independence Day. We will feel the presence of Ukrainian folk music, including in the newly composed Reflections on a Folk Song by Leonid Desyatnikov, but also experience music that borrows tones from completely different times and places, as in the modern classic Der Bote , where Valentin Silvestrov weaved together music by Mozart with a contemporary tonality. The music knows no borders, but the heart of this concert is in Ukraine.

SR Berwaldhallen

Starting and finishing at Midlands Arts Centre in Cannon Hill Park, this guided bicycle concert invites audiences to travel together through the city, stopping at a series of green spaces for live performances of contemporary music. Participants will visit locations across Birmingham by bike, where short, pop-up concerts unfold in the open air. Please note you will need your own bike to take part in this ride.
