It wouldn’t be a season-opening concert without our very own Royal Northern Sinfonia, Chorus and Principal Conductor Dinis Sousa. They’re joined by special guest, pianist Kristian Bezuidenhout, who returns after his incredible BBC Prom with us last summer.

Wow, have we got a packed stage for you tonight! Making the afternoon extra epic are singers and musicians from right across the North East, sharing the stage with the Royal Northern Sinfonia and Chorus, and a superb line-up of soloists.

Tippett’s A Child of Our Time

Principal Conductor Dinis Sousa, Royal Northern Sinfonia and the Chorus of Royal Northern Sinfonia are joined by a quartet of vocal superstars.

Handel's Messiah

Guest conductor Sofi Jeannin takes the lead for this incredible concert, joined by soprano Hilary Cronin and baritone Roderick Williams. Royal Northern Sinfonia and Chorus of Royal Northern Sinfonia complete the impressive line-up.

Faure’s Requiem

Nil Venditti is a real firecracker. So much so, Royal Northern Sinfonia snapped her up as Principal Guest Conductor after two visits.  Tonight she’s joined on stage by four super soloists, Royal Northern Sinfonia and Chorus of Royal Northern Sinfonia.
