As soloists, David (violin), Edgar (cello), and Jérémie Moreau (piano), also known as the Moreau Trio, are virtuoso brothers and close collaborators, often praised for their vibrant shared energy when not pursuing their solo careers. On the program are two monumental works. First, Beethoven's Triple Concerto (1804): a generous and unclassifiable work in which the three soloists engage in a joyful and complementary dialogue with the orchestra. We also commemorate the bicentenary of the master's death (1827–2027). Then, Schubert's Symphony No. 8 : long neglected, this visionary symphony surpasses all of Schubert's earlier works in its scope and maturity. Composed between 1825 and 1828, it remained unpublished until 1839, when Schumann discovered it at the home of the composer's brother. Its numbering has varied (No. 7, No. 9), but recent editions (Bärenreiter, Breitkopf) now place it at No. 8. "The Great" displays heroic energy, captivating themes, and luminous orchestration: a bridge between Viennese classicism and nascent romanticism. An absolute masterpiece.

Le Corum

Each year, through its festivals, masterclasses and other public events, the Kronberg Academy offers all-round musical training for exceptionally talented young string players. The results are on display here, with some of the most promising artists of their generation performing a wide range of pieces from the chamber repertoire. The morning concert features a range of major duo sonatas from the Viennese classical period – Mozart’s 1778 violin work written in Mannheim, Beethoven’s final cello masterpiece of 1815 – and the early 20th Century in the first of Debussy’s late, wartime chamber works, comprise the programme.
