When it shatters, its shards fall upon the human world, where the children Kay and Gerda share a profound friendship. However, when a splinter from the mirror lodges in Kay's eye, it transforms his joy and enthusiasm for life into disdain and calculating cynicism. His cold pride summons the Snow Queen herself, who entices him with her icy kisses and embrace. Suddenly, Kay disappears from Gerda, and no one knows his whereabouts.
