Following the phenomenal success of The Incredible Story of the Giant Pear, we are proud to invite children and adults alike to yet another Strid adventure as The Fantastic Bus takes over the Main Stage at the Royal Danish Playhouse.

Life in Ahnstarr City is not easy for Taku, Spir, and their friends. Their small wooden houses by the harbour are being torn down, and little Timo is seriously ill. Only the rare saffron lily, which grows in the dreamland of Balanka, can cure him. When two old Phantom-8 jet engines from a failed expedition 25 years ago are rediscovered, and a plasma generator is brought back to life, Spir has an idea: let’s build a bus and travel to Balanka!

A fiendish mirror, crafted by the Devil himself, distorts all that is good into ugliness and absurdity. When it shatters, its shards fall upon the human world, where the children Kay and Gerda share a profound friendship. However, when a splinter from the mirror lodges in Kay's eye, it transforms his joy and enthusiasm for life into disdain and calculating cynicism. His cold pride summons the Snow Queen herself, who entices him with her icy kisses and embrace. Suddenly, Kay disappears from Gerda, and no one knows his whereabouts.

Welcome to Solby, a place of peace and tranquillity, until Sebastian and Mitcho reel in a message in a bottle from the sea. Inside the bottle, they uncover a letter from JB, the missing mayor of Solby, along with a mysterious seed. When they plant the seed in their garden, it sprouts into an enormous pear, which soon carries them across the open sea towards a mysterious island. Along their voyage, they face sabre-wielding pirates, a formidable sea dragon and ghostly apparitions – encounters that might not be as perilous as they initially seem.

Becoming a genuine human proves difficult amidst the cruelty and opportunism of those seeking to deceive and take advantage of him.

While the United States, where Trump wins the presidency, is becoming more and more polarised, the world around them seems to be collapsing.
