'It would be a beautiful evening. One of those rare, still, warm summer nights, where everything seems to pause and hold its breath for a moment. Regitze could not have chosen a better evening for her party.'

Karl-Aage has been married to Regitze for over 40 years. Now, as she faces an incurable illness, they prepare for what will be their final gathering at their allotment garden. As he reflects on a lifetime with the fearless, strong-willed, and life-affirming Regitze, his own story unfolds—one in which he has always been the passive, hesitant, and reserved one.

Royal Danish Opera

The stage is transformed into Oktoberfest, a carnival wonderland, with a towering Ferris wheel at its heart. Led by the Royal Danish Playhouse’s resident director, Anna Balslev, the artistic collective Regimentet explores whether good people still exist—or if crisis and the ruthless nature of the economic system reduce us to selfish individuals who use one another for personal gain.

Led by the Royal Danish Playhouse’s resident director, Anna Balslev, the artistic collective Regimentet explores whether good people still exist—or if crisis and the ruthless nature of the economic system reduce us to selfish individuals who use one another for personal gain.

The question arises: Have we mastered the art of navigating crises or merely the management of our own existence?

Marie Antoinette

The daughter of a god, Agnes, portrayed by Asta August, descends to Earth driven by her curiosity to understand the human condition. Here, she constantly encounters individuals pondering the question: What is the purpose of life, if our pursuit of happiness and love leads to double the amount of grief? Over and over, the celestial offspring reflects, "humans are to be pitied." But, is that truly the case?
